Editing text

Once you have created a text object on your page, you can select one or more characters in it by selecting the Text tool from the Toolbox and dragging over the text. Once the text cursor is in a block of text, you can select text by holding down the SHIFT key while pressing the arrow keys on your keyboard. For example, SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW selects the next character following the insertion point. Similarly, SHIFT+HOME selects from the insertion point to the beginning of the line and SHIFT+END selects to the end of the line. You can also select all the text in a selected text frame by pressing CTRL+A.

You can delete one or more selected characters by pressing the DELETE/BACKSPACE key. Or, to delete an entire block of text, select it with one of the selection tools and press DELETE/BACKSPACE.

Tip: If the Selection or Direct Selection tool is selected in the Toolbox, you can quickly select text by double-clicking on a text object. This automatically switches to the Text tool.
